Here is a little lead for you.
As far as I remember, I have expireienced the same situation on a
VT-connection, but with Quiz.  Quiz appeared to be creating some kind of
subprocess doing the search, while the 'main' process was waiting for user
input ( Perhaps looping for ctrl-y ).
My guess is that the process is designed to loop on a time-out event, which
fails on VT-terminal, thereby provoking a CPU-intensive loop. If you have
Glance, you can check it out. As I mentioned, this expirience was for Quiz,
bout don't You think it it the same for Quick.
