I certainly agree, and it could benefit HP as well as the customers:  Not every problem might have been found, and if someone encounters a "real" bug it could be fixed before release (as in post beta testing). It's surprising what can turn up with people poking about.

I would seem to me that until there is a new method of downloading and
installing apache that the beta version should be available some where.

The beta version of Apache 1.3.9 was removed from our Jazz web server
because the beta test period has concluded.  We are presently formulating
release and support plans for Apache 1.3.9 (and beyond) on MPE.
I expect that we will be able to let you know about these in January.  I'm
sorry about any confusion that may exist.
