It's just more proof that Lawyers are out of control...you can sue for anything (and many times, win).  It really ticks me off because it gives good/honest contractors a bad name.  If they want to claim they were hp employees, then they should be made to give all of the money back they earned from Manpower (or whomever) first because that was ill-gotten funds.

And that's why after Microsoft got nailed by a bunch of contractors
doing the same thing, most companies limited contractor's time to less
than 12 months consecutive.

Hmm, it's hard for me to believe that HP needs to provide anything for
this person working through Manpower. That's the nature of the
relationship when working through a firm like that. I did it, and I
didn't expect any of my clients to treat me like an employee. Even if
I was there for a long time. It was my choice to keep my relationship
with them like that. Oh well.
