Coincidentally (?) I have recently helped on a call where the
same was happening for a customer with LJ4050's and LJ8100's.

A spooler debug trace was taken, and showed that the 3000 did
not resend any data at all. The customer then told us that he
had seen EIO error 40 on these printers displays before the
reprints of part of the spoolfiles (a repeat of x pages, but
NOT from the beginning !) started to happen.

Their solution was to move the printers to a less busy subnet
of their network behind a switch, and neither the reprinted pages
nor the EIO error 40's have recurred.

it night be worthwhile to check 2 things :

1) is your JetDirect FW uptodate ?
(this also ties in with the latest security advices
   about SNMP vulnerabilities)
2) try setting the _printer_ to not do jam_recovery
(and disable the setting in the spooler NPCONFIG, too).

Since you asked:
JAM_RECOVERY = TRUE will prevent the spooler from doing
a so-called 'silent-run' page level recovery if a paper_jam
condition is detected. i.e. jam_recovery=true means that the
spooler continues to send the data from the spoolfile once
the printer is online again, no data/pages are resent. It
relies on the printer to be capable of reprinting all the
pages in its buffer that did not reach the outtray due to
the paper_jam.

HTH,
Goetz.
