Hello Folks @ 3000-l,

Re: Telnet/Network Question (really is a :showconn question)

Here is the short/tall/skinny of where you can find ":showconn" and
":abortcon"

The ":showconn" and ":abortcon" were initially included in the "NSS" patches
because the CSY NS-Services lab developed and distributed these freeware
tools.

Since the "NSS" patch also included fixes to the NS-Services, this was
found to be an inconvenient mechanism to deliver these utilities.
Especially
since fixes to NS-Services have become somewhat infrequent.

In recent releases the ":showconn" and ":abortcon" are removed from the
"NSS"
patches and are now delivered in a "NRC" Tools patch.

How to find or get these files on your systems:

0) As pointed out in earlier post the ":showconn" and ":abortcon" can be
   downloaded from JAZZ.CUP.HP.COM.

1) On MPE/iX 6.0 and prior the files were distributed in "NSS" patches.

NSSFD16 GENERAL RELEASE for C.55.00
NSSFDA5 GENERAL RELEASE for C.60.00

The files are located at:

ABORTCON.NSRV0000.TELESUP
SC.NSRV0000.TELESUP
SHOWCONN.NSRV0000.TELESUP

2) On MPE/iX 6.5 and beyond the files are distributed in "NRC" Tools patch.

NRCLXP0 GENERAL RELEASE for C.65.00

The files are located at:

ABORTCON.PRVXL.TELESUP
SC.PRVXL.TELESUP
SHOWCONN.PRVXL.TELESUP

3) On MPE/iX 7.0 I found the "NRCLXP0" for C.70.00 patch does not include
the ":showconn" and ":abortcon". I will work to resolve this and will
reply to this list when it is available. Meanwhile if you already have the
files "ABORTCON", "SC" and "SHOWCONN" in the TELESUP account - I have tested

them on 7.0 and they work.
