I would strongly recommend using private volumes in addition to MPEXL...SET.
Leave the existing 8 GB as the MPEXL...SET (now you don't have to do a reload
at all), and configure the new RAID as one or more private volume sets. Take
all "your" accounts (accounts that DON'T come from a FOS or SLT) and build them
on the private volume, after deleting them from the MPEXL...SET.
Of course, with this scenario you lose RAID fault-tolerance for the
MPEXL...SET, which may not be acceptable. You may decide you must have those on
the RAID also...in this case you MUST perform a reload as you described. I
would still use private volumes for your own accounts, though.
No matter how you do, I always would make a complete backup set and a new
SLT...just in case. :)
