You may wish to refer this question to the comp.sys.bsd.freebsd.misc
newsgroup.  My gut feeling is that this is a FreeBSD configuration
setting.  I'm just now learning my way around FreeBSD, and can't give
you a definite answer.
 
However, you might try this:
Check the setting for the FreeBSD shell idle timeout.  5 minutes sounds
suspiciously like a common shell timeout setting.
