Anybody using POSIX applications should make sure your system is current on
Streams/iX patches.  For 7.0, the latest GR patch is STRGDW2A.

POSIX pipes are implemented via Streams/iX.  Weird pipe problems are an
indication to check to make sure you have the latest STRxxxxx patch.
