Hi Everybody,

I am caling an Cobol XL routine using a Cobol program. When i run the program using the following command in a job

"RUN NAME.PROG;LIB=P;PARM=0" the program aborts with the following error message:

“UNRESOLVED EXTERNALS: xl routine (LDRERR 512)

Failed to locate the exported code symbol(s) for the imported code symbol(s) listed

 above. (LDRERR 522)”.

but when i run the program using the command in the job

"RUN NAME.PROG" the program runs fine.

so i decided to use to use the SETDUMP command to figure why the other command was failing, and most surprisingly when i ran it with the following steps in the job instead of getting a dump the job went thru without aborting.

:SETDUMP

:RUN NAME.PROG;LIB=P;PARM=0

later i removed the SETDUMP command and the job goes thru finw now without aborting..... but still i want to know why this is happening....

can someone help me out?

Regards

Venkat
