Having lived through the HP-Apollo merger and the nearly completed
demise of Domain/OS to HP-UX, I might submit that the HP answer is indeed
here, it's just that it is like the old saying (if you'll pardon the
analogy) "God answers all prayers ... it's just that sometimes the answer
is 'No'."

Domain/OS went through it ... RTE is going through it ... and from all HP
indications, MPE has started into it. Learn from the others that have
been there how to try to salvage what you really need.

When you talk with HP, be certain to ask for what you really *need* --
which may not be what you really *want*. i.e., get the features you need
in the OS that HP thinks is their strategic direction at the time rather
than fight for the OS and risk loosing both your OS *and* the features
you need but which could have been put into HP's future 'pet' ... and
it's harder to get back _everything_ once it's gone. Keeping the OS when
ISVs stop writing applications for it doesn't help either.

Just some (hopefully) helpful thoughts.
