I think this is correct, in my earlier mail I may have given
the impression that we changed HPCPUNAME ourselves - to be more
accurate I should have said the engineer changed it while we
present !

My 979/200 says:
:showvar hpcpuname
HPCPUNAME = SERIES 979-200

I know that many 3rd party software vendors use the HPCPUNAME as part of
their security/validation. If this HPCPUNAME is wrong it may cause
problems. Only an HP authorized person can change the HPCPUNAME, usually a
CE. As far as I know this can only be done onsite.

Hello all,

a nice quick question I hope.

We have just ordered an HPe3000 979/200 and have been quoted an HPCPUNAME of
SERIES 979-100.

Could anyone confirm this is correct or should it be SERIES 979-200?

My gut feeling is that it is right and the fact we have a twin processor
machine is just an option added to the default spec.

Many thanks,

Kevin
