Well, I wish I could tell you we had the same problem, and give you a
solution.  We are on 5.0 express 2 (or is it 3?).  We have had no
problems accessing the 3000 through Reflection/DOS.  We are using various
releases of R7, with terminal access over serial lines and the network.
We are also using it for file tranfers with no problems that I know of.
