Can you swap printers? Does it follow the printer or the port?

HP3000. Both printers and the HP3000 sit on the same LAN. All the printers
can be pinged from the HP3000 without delay. There are no other noticable
symptoms of a general network problem. Internal and external network

The HP3000 had a disc drive replaced withing the last month. However, that was
finalized at least two weeks ago and this problem only surfaced yesterday.
There have been no equipment additions or removals within the past six months,

The network printers are shared by our Active Directory members. Printing from
these sources were unaffected.
The difficulty that I have with investigating this is that the problem is
infrequent, intermittent, and evidently cures itself without intervention.

Notwithstanding that the utility is supposed to be available on the HP3000, I
can find no program on the HP3000 that appears to be traceroute (tracert).
