REX is an SPL like language specially suited for accessing IMAGE and KSAM
files on the HP3000 and it currently generates compatibility mode run
modules. It was developed by GENTRY in the early 80s and is currently
distributed by DRA.

I'd like to find out the extent to which REX is used by the HP3000
community, with the hope of determining if enough interest exists to
warrant an effort of providing a native mode version. In my most recent
talk with DRA I was informed of the absence of plans to provide a version
of REX that would produce native mode run modules but they would be
interested in a proposal from anyone interested and/or willing to undertake
such an effort.

If you are interested in a native mode version of REX or would be willing
to get involved with such an undertaking drop me a note. I'll evaluate
the response and try to determine the feasibility of such a project.

Regards
