John Clogg complains,

That's because it's an option in MPEX, *not* MPE/iX:

% help showproc

  1. VESOFTDEFAULTSHOWPROC, MPEX variable
  2. %SHOWPROC, MPEX command
  3. USER, %SHOWPROC keyword
  4. ANYUSER, %SHOWPROC keyword
  5. TREE, %SHOWPROC keyword
  6. NOTREE, %SHOWPROC keyword
  7. CHANGE, %SHOWPROC keyword
  8. TRUNC, %SHOWPROC keyword
  9. FORMAT=FILES, %SHOWPROC keyword <<< Here it is
 10. FILES=, %SHOWPROC keyword
 11. Link to MPE's :HELP SHOWPROC
Which of the above would you like help on (or CR to exit)?

If you don't want to feel left out you should consider buying MPEX. (not a
<plug> since I don't get a kickback for saying it and I have no financial
interest in VESoft).
