5.5 network printing: LPD?

In the previous discussions here about 5.5 network printing support, I couldn't
remember if protocols other than HP JetDirect TCP/IP were going to be
supported.
 
We're looking at some non-HP printer server boxes that speak LPD instead of
JetDirect; will 5.5 be able to speak LPD to them?
