Inquiring mind(s) want(s) to know ...

I just received a mailing from Interex advertising the rental of their
mailing list. It has a photo on the front with a large caption, "How are
you going to get the attention of these people..."

Now one of these people has what appears to be an abnormally large head
(no offense, of course). What's more, the lighting on his face and the
hard edges suggest that this particular head was (gasp!) pasted in!

So the questions obviously become:

(Part 1) Who's head is this, anyway?
(Part B) Who's head (if anyone's) was covered in this photo-modification?
         And why?

Bonus questions:

(!) Is the lettering on the banner "original" ("World's Largest Gathering
    of HP Computing Professionals")?
(!) What conference?
(!) Or is this in fact a gathering of HP users at all?!
(!) Were there other modifications?

For those of you who might not have been targeted by this Interex
mailing, I'll scan the page and put it up on ftp.3k.com. Look for it as
MYSTERY.TIF or something like that.

The first correct answer will receive my copy of this Interex mailing.
Employees of Interex, Fransen/King, and Denkart are not eligible, mainly
because they ought to have better things to do with their time.
