Public newsgroup search engines can sometimes serve as a workaround
if Raven's search is down or overloaded (kind of "mirror sites")...

I used www.dejanews.com or www.altavista.digital.com in the past.

be handy to introduce newbies to the newsgroup, as the help button
on that page seems to link to some general newsgroup backg'd info.
