I believe Gavin is right on this one.
In fact, the requirement for users accessing a data base enabled for
logging to have or not have LG capability, has changed at least twice since
the early days of transaction logging - which predates even MPE/VE.
The way it stands as of MPE/iX 5.5 - users do NOT require LG capability to
open a logging-enabled IMAGE data base in modes 1 thru 4. (A user would
never require LG to open the data base in modes 5 thru 8).
I cannot recall the last version of the OS when users did require LG
capability.
