Yep, that fixed it and I had to change the ciupdate flag from allow to
on.

Larry,
You are trying to a key field (critical item) and you need to use
>UPDATE CIUPDATE
to accomplish this.
If that does not work you need to use DBUTIL to enable CIUPDATE for this
database.
Example:
:RUN DBUTIL.PUB.SYS
>>set dbname ciupdate=on
>>exit
