Create and maintain a current SLT. Personally, I also create BULDJOBs for
all accounts and the full system. I've added a script file to the SLT that
rebuilds my SYSGEN info, and included EDITOR.PUB.SYS on my SLT.

Subject: [HP3000-L] Files that cannot be backed up
We are trying to complete a disaster recovery plan and have concerns
about
files that cannot be backed up.
Here is the list:
/SYS/MPEXL/DUMPINFO
/SYS/MPEXL/LIFDIREC
/SYS/MPEXL/WGCONFIG
/SYS/PUB/DSTLGTAB
/SYS/PUB/DSTLID
/SYS/PUB/DSTRINS
/SYS/PUB/DSTWELC1
/SYS/PUB/DSTWELC2
/SYS/PUB/FPROTECT
/SYS/PUB/HPGID
/SYS/PUB/HPGIDNX
/SYS/PUB/HPUID
/SYS/PUB/HPUIDNX
/SYS/PUB/JMATFILE
/SYS/PUB/JOBQFILE
/SYS/PUB/LOADLIST
/SYS/PUB/SL
/var/stm/logs/os/memlog
/ops/dcelocal/var/rpc/rpcdllb.dat
Quite possibly some of these files are created and opened for
writing when
the system boots up, and there is no need for concern. Is there
anything we
need to do to reduce this list or protect ourselves better?
Thanks.
