Orbit has much to say about this. HP and Orbit have traded articles on
what their respective on-line backup products do right and don't do
wrong, and what the other guys product does do wrong or doesn't do
right.

I found HP articles at
http://www.hp.com/csy/docs/ix55/ct5152aa.html,
/ibpprogs/csy/advisor/july96/features/turbostore.html, and
http://hpcc920.external.hp.com/csy/docs/ix55/cm5152aa.html.
I found these thru their search engine at
http://www.hp.com/AccessGuide/Search.html.
A search on TurboStore found 41 documents, although some of these are
duplicate references. I will leave it to you to choose your own reading;
I am biased toward reading relevant documentation, and would encourage
you to repeat the search and go from there.

I have Orbit's number as 800-896-7248; they will also provide copies of
HP's articles; they are willing to fax. Their web site has articles
starting with http://www.orbitsw.com/online.htm. As I recall, their
articles and their people having a fair understanding of how one's own
needs may vary, such that their product may be more than you need. For
instance, differential backup on our development platform takes less
than five minutes right now; we are not a good candidate for on-line
backup on that platform. We are keeping them in mind for later as
production grows.

So, to answer Ron's question, yes, Orbit has an opinion on TurboStore
and Orbit's product. I do not. But if I did, it would be my own;
standard total disclaimers, your mileage may vary, hope this helps.
