Brice,

You didn't answer the point made. The point being that terrorism can be a
very difficult to fight and Israel, as an example, has fought for many years
and the fight has not yet been won.

I did not answer Mr Baier because I have already answered this.

I am sympathetic to Mr Ryan's post made. I don't like the termns he
used, but he would probably agree with me when I say that terrorism
will not end until the countries who harbor terrorists stop doing so.
As long as the terrorists have a place of safety to plan and initiate
terror, they will continue to do so. My short answer was to make these
countries stop doing this. The 'how' is the question. This is why I
only made a short answer to it, since the how is both a complex and
simple answer. Mr Ryan's attack on the 'left wing' has merit to me
because the 'left' seems to want to use the weapon of 'diplomacy' and
I don't think 'diplomacy' is very effective at dealing with countries
who don't want to be on good terms with us. Those countries see
diplomatic efforts as 'weakness'. Diplomacy only works with countries
like Japan and Spain and Norway, etc. because they see diplomacy as
an honest attempt to work things out. Iran and Libya and North Korea
see diplomacy as a way to gain an edge. They want us to disarm our
Nuclear weapons while they continue to secretly develop them. They
will use the UN as a diplomatic vehicle to keep our military at bay,
while they make plans to attack while we are disabled by diplomacy.

As far as how to stop them? Well Afghanistan has not launched any
Jumbo jets at the WTC lately. Iraq has not invaded Kuwait recently
either. If we really wanted Iran to stop sponsoring terror, we could
do it. How? Well, nuke, nuke nuke, nuke, nuke, and they would cease
to exist. There would not be a country left to do it, and there would
not be a thing anyone else could do about it. And it would be a lesson
to anyone else who considered antagonizing us. My question to you,
Glenn, is, if we are really the big bad nasty country they say we are,
why have we not done that? For that matter, why has not Israel? They
are a Nuclear power, and no other country there is.

If you come up with any other answer than 'diplomacy', then I want to hear
it.

Question number two is, when was the last time two democratic republics
went to war with each other. And why haven't they? If the answer is
never, or a long long time, then if Iraq is turned into a democratic
republic, how long will it be before we go to wr with them again?

Sorry to take up so much bandwidth for everyone, but Glenn asked...
