Here too. I helped test the port for Lars long ago, and just last year wrote
a series of command files that used wget to pull package tracking
information from UPS, USPS, and FedEx's web sites from the 3000 (designed
for Ecometry users, but nothing really specific to it).

It also makes a convenient test for a web server; I run it in our daily
morning report job to pull the home page from our 3000's (Apache-based) web
server. It not only gives me a quick 3000-based tool to make sure the web
site is answering, but also makes sure the Streams/iX stuff gets started
early (that stuff all starts up the first time some of those posix thingys
are accessed after the system has started - and that lets me initialize all
that before the first user hits the site.)

for MPE

Now u tell me?!? I just got done installing 'wget' myself
from Lars' site
and am very impressed as I wrote to Lars. Just think: the
HP from a command
line can give you a stock quote...

It's very handy being able to FTP a file directly to the HP,
or copy down a
                web page.

If anybody wants my 'blow by blow' scenario from a total
'posix/unix' newbie
                perspective, drop me a line.
