I agree with you, Craig.  And I'll site a similar experience dealing with 
General Motors...I am on my third Suburban, great truck and family 
hauler.  But each of them, ranging in manufacturing date from the 80's into 
the 2000s, has had the power locks start malfunctioning at about age 4 or 
5, and the interior lights malfunctioning at about the same.  If it was 
Honda or Toyota, they would manufacture those defects out of future models 
( we own 3 Hondas also).  GM didn't.  Now many buyers prefer Honda and 
Toyota.  It's no wonder.
