Hi everybody,

This is my first time posting to this list...(although I've been skulking
around for the
last few months)...I'm also new to MPE so please be patient with me.

Here's my scenario...

I'm running MPE/IX 5.5 with powerpatch 7. My users have 'OP" capabilities
and although
they do not have access to the command line...I still want to take the
capability away from
them. No problem right? Wrong.
Two of our users access a customized logon menu that allows them to view all
spoolfiles. Usually our Operator will run the jobs and these users view the
output.
The jobs are run as MGR.AMISYS and the users sign on as USER.AMISYS.
If I take away 'OP' they cannot view the spoolfiles...they can only view
their own.
I was hoping to put a line in the UDC that calls the customized menu.

Something along the lines of this...

...(excuse my pseudocode)...

IF OWNER OF SPOOLF EQUALS MGR.AMISYS
THEN CHANGE OWNER OF SPOOLF TO USER.AMISYS

MGR.AMISYS is set up with AM capabilities so everybody (even these two
users)
should be able to read the spoolfiles...right? I've also thought about the
possibility
of some form of ALTFILE @.OUT HPSPOOL;OWNER=USER.AMISYS.
I don't wan't to change all the spool files though.
Unfortunately, I'm not a programmer nor can I find a HP variable that calls
the spoolfile's owner.
I called HPRC and they suggested a third party solution or digging through
some freeware.
Does anybody know anything off the top of their head...I can't be the first
person to run into this.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

TIA
