Go to Windows 98 update site at Microsoft. They have a patch for this
problem.

Since this topic is floating around.  Sometimes when I shut down windows 98
it hangs on the logo screen with the message shuting down windows 98 (or
something similar).  I have to just power off my box.  Then when I starting
it back up it goes through scan disc becuase of an improper shut down.  Even
systemworks can't find the problem.
