Kevin,

I tend to agree, however, the AutoRAID does not work like JBOD, so it really
isn't 12 "drives" on one channel. The AutoRAID suppports up to 8 LUNs,
therefore, 8 LDEVs, per AutoRAID. So the channel would "see" 8 devices. The
AutoRAID also has a cache, albeit small, and the technology to keep the most
frequently accessed data in a RAID 0/1 space.

A question that I have for the group/HP is "what is the maximum amount of
storage (GB) that is recommended on one fast-wide interface?". The "8-10
drives per FWD channel" has been a rule of thumb, but with 18GB drives and
the AutoRAID, you can be looking at 140-180GB per channel!!!

Regards,

I would wonder about that, how can 12 SCSI drives not saturate a FW SCSI
interface?
