A while ago, I literally found a book called.

"A Time for Truth" by William E. Simons

The book was written and published in March of 1978.  The pages were yellowed
with age.

Mr. Simon's was more of a prophet than author.  Before you get to thinking that
this is a "right wing" book, I suggest you read it.  It is a very fast read.

Mr. Simon explains, among other things, why NYC almost went bankrupt.  He was
Secretary of the Treasury at the time.

He also felt that there was little difference between Democrats and
Republicans.  Virtually anything the government touched went to hell.

A most excellent book.
