How about leaving those FIELD statement off the screen *entirely*?
Use ITEM statements after the FILE that those fields belong to and
give them INITIAL or FINAL values.
Thusly:

> PRIMARY & *W* Data name ACTIVE may conflict with the keyword
ACTIVE.
> CLOSE
> ITEM JOB FINAL "impossible"
> ITEM USER FINAL "difficult"
> ITEM ACCOUNT FINAL "overdue"
