Hi Steve,

Thanks for the reply. I bounced over there and did a listf, -3 on one of
the files that I add to the installation and it says:

R290#listf jsodupdj.job,-3
********************
FILE: JSODUPDJ.JOB.SYS

FILE CODE : 0 FOPTIONS: ASCII,FIXED,NOCCTL,STD
BLK FACTOR: 16 CREATOR : Removed to protect the innocent

REC SIZE: 80(BYTES) LOCKWORD:
BLK SIZE: 1280(BYTES) SECURITY--READ : ANY
EXT SIZE: 65(SECT) WRITE : ANY
NUM REC: 187 APPEND : ANY
NUM SEC: 64 LOCK : ANY
NUM EXT: 1 EXECUTE : ANY
MAX REC: 187 **SECURITY IS ON
MAX EXT: 1 FLAGS : NO ACCESSORS
NUM LABELS: 0 CREATED : MON, JUL 19, 1999, 8:39 PM
MAX LABELS: 0 MODIFIED: MON, JUL 19, 1999, 8:39 PM
DISC DEV #: 3 ACCESSED: MON, JUL 19, 1999, 8:40 PM
SEC OFFSET: 0 LABEL ADDR: $000000B1.$000EA320
VOLCLASS : MPEXL_SYSTEM_VOLUME_SET:DISC

It looks like the file is free as far as I can see.

Thanks, wilson

The first step I would take is to do a listf ,-3 or 8 or 9 to determine what
the accessor flag status is. This may be a first step in identifying if the
file is locked for some reason.
