Does anyone remember the entertainment at the 1988 Madrid Interex
conference banquet? One part of it was a demonstration of pocket-picking
skills that was pretty awesome.

The person who allowed himself to volunteer to be the subject was someone
we knew well, a long-time member of the HP 3000 community with whom we
were sharing a table that night. Once on stage, the pickpocket managed to
extract his wallet from his inside jacket pocket, his handkerchief from
his shirt pocket, and even remove his tie -- all without his knowing, and
with his being fully forewarned as to the type of performance he was
assisting.

No prizes for guessing the performer's day job :-).

PS. The name escapes me at the moment, but the "victim" was the person
who always attended shows for Aldon.
