Since we are on the topic of Grammar, there is a tendency for technical
writers to write in the passive voice ('Once this has been set up...' vs.
'After one runs the set up program...'). I remember a professor peppering
my papers with the catchy little phrase: "Passive Sucks". I still
constantly review my writing because I still have a strong urge to write in
the passive voice. If nothing else, I find the active voice makes you sound
more authoritative. (Whether you are or not!)

TMEBYMBD (The Mileage Experienced By You May Be Different) ..hmmm.. YMMV.
