Personally, I do think of the HP3000 as a file server, just a different
size. Now if you are looking for a computer system to serve files that are
PC in nature then you should use a micro system such as the NetServer. We
currently use two NetServer (LM & LC) for a Banyan Vines NOS and talk with
the HP3000 printers and vice-versa. I'm sure software will be come
available for producing micro performance for the HP3000 in the server
arena just for the mere fact of, it's fault tolerant operating system. Face
the facts, micros go down 1000 times more than an HP3000.
