The local Nissan dealership is charging $300 for the nitrogen filled
tires, so $60 would be a bargain.

Costco does the nitrogen for free with the tires, so it can't cost that
much! If I were buying a new car, I would just tell them I don't want
that option and to remove it. Period.

Quite frankly, there is no reason to pay for any of the add ons they try
to sneak by you. When I purchased my last new car, they tried to add on
fees for paint protection, mud flaps and the roof rack as well as a few
more bull**** items. I told them that if it wasn't part of the base
package, that it had be removed or not done. I was told they wouldn't
remove it, so I got up and started walking. I couldn't believe how
quickly the salesman caved in order to get me sitting again.

Don't ever forget that they need to move that car more than you need to
buy it. Every day that car sits in their inventory, they have to pay
interest on the car. Each unit less they sell per month lowers their
allocation from the factory. They also get financial incentives from
the manufacturers for the number of units they move, so their bottom
price is lower than you think.

Subject: Re: [HP3000-L] OT: Are dealerships to blame for slow car sales?

I am not a scammer, but I like to play some practical jokes sometimes
that do
not cost anybody anything.

But I remember about 10 years back I had just gotten out of the Army and

started working for a health insurance company, and the girl who works
for me
know is my boss.

But anyways, we were talking about tires for some strange reason.

I decided to come up with a good one.

I told everybody at the table that you have to change the air in you
tires at
least once a year. And, I added in, that you cannot do it yourself, you
have
to go to a certified air removal site to make sure that all the air was
removed
from the tires.

Of course, I'm getting strange looks at this point in time, but I was
asked why?

I said, because if you do not remove all the air out of the tires once a
year,
the condisation within the tires begins to errode all the metal.

One of the persons looked at me and asked me where it could be done.

At which point, I told them I was kidding.

Needless to say, I found a bunch of new freinds that night, and they
sent me
home and never beleived anything I ever said until I told them that the
HP3000
crashed the night before and I was the newby on call.
