Subject: Re: FTP to HP9000 and automatic process start
I've seen these techniques used:
1) have a daemon wake up every so often and process files
in a given directory.
2) schedule a cron job for every so often and process files
in a given directory
3) set up a samba printer such that the print processor is your
program.
4) feed commands into telnet after the ftp
Using samba is the only one that is automatic and on-demand.
Telnet and the r* commands are not secure.
