Greetings,

We have a customer who has just bought a 3000 and they
have 6.5 installed on it. I am not sure about PowerPatches
and reactive patches, I am checking with the vendor who
sold them the machine about this.

The problem they are having is the MSTM works fine but
CSTM does not work. When they try CSTM they get:

Exiting the STM UI due to an unexpected error.
Possible Causes:
 Internal Application Error.

Then it suggest checking the UI activity log and/or the System
Activity Log. Using MSTM I had the customer check these logs and
this is what I found:

Tue Sep 18 20:45:19 2001: User Name: MANAGER.SYS, UI Process ID:
1179709
Write system call failed with errno (50), when attempting to write
data to file descriptor (37). The errno returned from the write
system call was unexpected.
Possible Causes/Recommended Action: Internal Application error.

Other sinips in the logs are:

The cstm user interface failed to write to the terminal.
output data: Support Tools Manager

The cstm user interface failed to format the output data:
(Support Tools Manager)

An attempt to retrieve input from the target user interface (which
interfaces
directly with the user or reads from a command file) failed.

The core user interface failed to retrieve input from the target user
interface (the program which interfaces directly with the user.)

The User Interface exited with status (14) due to an unexpected error.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Barry
