Randy Smith noted about his HP 9000s:
 
"I guess I've been too much time contemplating the 9000 side of my job.  I
believe they're going to obsolete one of my machines shortly.  Yes, yet
another way in which the HP3000 is a great investment."
 
Absolutely correct, Randy, And Unigram-X, a Unix newsletter, reports that
HP will be pulling its G,H and I Series HP 9000 systems off the price list
sometime next year. Sooner or later, time catches up with every platform,
even those that are Unix-based. It just seems to happen sooner with systems
other than HP 3000s.
