Conversations I've had with Winston Prather, Jeff Vance, et al indicate
they ARE investing time and the commitment of a manager and at least
several people regarding the future of MPE after HP-EOS (HP-End of
Support). They've not been as vocal about it as I've suggested they
should be, but the discussions do continue. The primary hurdle to
overcome is the outlook that the remaining level of businesses using MPE
after HP-EOS will not be sufficient to pay the costs of support,
distribution, patches, upgrades, etc. It's kind of like persuading the
relatives that Aunt Bessie isn't really dead, just in a coma & she'll
come out of that coma! There are those convinced Aunt Bessie's dead, and
many relatives convinced Aunt Bessie's in a shock-induced coma that
happend sometime around November 14, 2001....
