Tim,

I wonder if you are actually executing some 'home grown' command file 
instead of the actual 'netcontrol' command.  I looked at the on-line help 
and could not find the 'SHUT' parameter. BTW I'm also on 6.0.

Do a 'help netcontrol' and see what comes up.
