I am glad that Tony at least got a reply. I wrote George and never got
a reply.
Maybe I have to email Carly to hear from George!

My brief take on the 3000 announcement is:

1. HP promised to take it to IA-64. Is that promise worth anything?.
2. HP has always given its customers a path to follow. Where is the
path
here. Saying that the customers have "several options" is inadequate.
3. IMHO open source is not the answer. At least for now it seems the
answer should be somehow piggyback MPE into IA-64 via HP-UX.

Regards,

Nick D.
