We have Omnidex on the db but I doubt if this is causing any issues.

Peter,
Is the database attached to an Allbase DBE file? Is there a dbnameTC
file? Any Third Party Indexes? How about Image Index files? (I'm fishing
;-) ). I've never seen this with %000000 for the Aoptions
requested...something's strange it happening.

Hi Richard
I tried this before and the access writes are for set for 'any' on account
group and file and there are no acds. I have also released the db as well in
dbutil and mpex.

Peter

Peter,
Typically this means that the actual MPE file access security is not
allowing WRITE access to the physical database files.
You should try doing a :LISTF dbname,4 and it will show you the access
you're allowed. Usually it's a group or account not allowing READ:ANY
causing the issue. Since this is a database, the typical (not personally
recommended fix) is the release the database inside DBUTIL.

Subject: Database Aoptions errors
Importance: High
Hi
I am getting some confusing results when trying to access a database that
has been copied to a new account. If I use supertool or Query then I get the
following error message
base macbas.pub.frmacs,1,password
UNOBTAINABLE ACCESS MODE; AOPTIONS REQUESTED: %000000, GRANTED: %000000
If we try access using the database read password it works.
What is wrong with what we are doing , this is causing us some serious
issues.
