Our client ftps a file from their NT server to our 3K, and uses quote
SITE STREAM PUTFILE.JOB to start the job that sends this file from our
3K to our NT server. This works great, and the pieces are hidden among
two users with two different home groups that each have their own
password, and so on; we feel that this is relatively secure, and all
parties are happy with this part of it.
>But what are my options for having the 3K kick off a batch job on our NT
>server? I would like to initiate the job after ftping a file, but the NT ftp

>available, but would likewise have to be learned. We can kludge a batch job
>to run AT a starting time, check for the file, then SLEEP for n minutes, or
>reschedule itself AT a later time, but that kind of stinks too. Ideas?
Moments like these, I question my commitment to heterogeneous
environments...
