In the hope that someone will correct me if wrong, my understanding of using
DTC's remotely would require you to bridge your LAN to South America. The DTC's
on my system are addressed by MAC address (not IP address). This creates a lot
of traffic on your frame-relay (unless you filter the traffic with a switch).
If you keep your DTC's local and route the traffic over frame-relay then you
can cut the volume over your link especially if you use local echo on your
terminal emulation.
