No, the XML parser is a bunch of standalone classes. Should be
possible to use it in Java Applets, Java Servlets as well as
simple "standalone" programs. The examples were small programs,
run from the command line, not under web browser control.

PS: Did not try to compile (or port) Xerces/C++ mainly for two
reasons... (a) I have zero experience with C++ and thus it would
not be easy for me to make appropriate adjustments to the source
code, if required, and (b) I didn't have a need for the native
library version, I was just curious (and lazy enough for Java ;-)
