We just finished putting a router filter together that blocks all those
wonderful services from direct Internet access - but the UDP stuff caught us
by surprise.

We do name service calls from our HP to the campus DNS. We expected a range
that is common to Unix machines but found that HP uses UDP port numbers
greater than 60,000 for DNS (no - I didn't mistype the zeros).

Maybe Eero can pry open the lid on this one and shed more light. We found
ours by sniffing.
