I joined it, not because I like IRC (I hate it and don't have time for
it), but because of the public exposure a forum like this gives MPE,
*especially* because it's on a high-visibility site like Yahoo!'s.

It goes back to the "Mindshare" issue. It's all well and good to host
chat and archives and similar things like that on, say, the Interex
site, but for real-world exposure (read "real *wide* exposure"), I'm all
for using Yahoo!, AltaVista, InfoSeek, or any of the others that will
host us for free, to get the word out about MPE.
