I believe....
without ;ONLINE   files are stored in order of the store-list.
keeping files in wild-carded groups and accounts together.

With the ;ONLINE feature, I believe that some files, if active at the 
store-request point,
are stored later - ie after the normal store-list is complete.
This would make them appear out of order on a VSTORE or RESTORE.
Possibly looking like they were appended to the store tape.

Details are not clear.

Hi all,

I've got a friend using a DDS3 (C1537A) for backups and it seems that once a 
tape is used for a store, the next time it's used it appends to the tape 
rather than starting from the load point.

Anyone else heard of this?
