 Dear Listers:

Is it just me, and I can take criticism surely, but what in today's age passes for etiquette with recruiters?

Over the past several months I've talked to literally dozens of recruiters and emailed tons of apps and resumes for positions that I was at the very least modestly qualified to perform, some over-qualified, but that is a different story.

This is the reason for the post - I'll get the initial call (say, 40-50% get back to me) asking for a resume re-format or whatever, then zero, nada, bupkas, zilch, zippo, i.e. nothing happens.

Phone calls are not returned or voice mails answered.

Emails are unanswered.

Communication of any nature is at a total and complete dead-end.

Is this the list's experience? If so I'll accept this and stop what may appear to be whining, but....

Incidentally there is a small group of recruiters out there who do return calls and emails if they're not proceeding with my candidacy, but, say, 5%?

My experience only, YMMV, IIRC and so on.

Thanks for any offline replies in advance.

John M Penney
