Hi All,

I have a question about HPFPCONVERT. We use this function in our TurboIMAGE
driver to convert floats in the TI database (which are always expected to be if
HP3000 native format) to IEEE format, which is what Uniface expects.
The question is: is this routine capable (if it's at all possible) to recognize
the current format of the float to convert. In other words, what happens when
we convert from native to IEEE, and the source is ALREADY in IEEE format ?
My guess is that HPFPCONVERT would screw up, but perhaps it does a check and sees
it does not have to convert ? (wishful thinking ?)
Of course I could check it for myself in the dbms and not do the call if it's
an IEEE, but I was just hoping this is my lucky day...

Thanks for any insights.
